Our HCM trip - Day 3 & 4

Day 3, Maria and Agnes went off to Cu-chi tunnel and city tour. Hy & Sy went to attend Lirhen & Ha's wedding. Well, we went on a shopping and eating experience. Of course, we slept in as we were tired out from the 1st 2 days. But still, we woke up at local time 8am and set off at local time 9+am. So much for sleeping in right. LOL. Rem, my parents doesn't want to waste time. We took a cab to Binh Tay Market, oh waste of time. It's a wholesale market and nothing suits us there. Less than 30mins, we hopped on another cab to Ben Thanh Market and there start our hunt for nice pyjamas. We almost spent our whole "livelihood" there. Buying like there's no tomorrow. After the good buys, we walked to Zen Plaza and have lunch. We too ate like there's no tomorrow. Mom and Irene auntie tried all the local delights. Some they like and some they are not use to. I have to say, we almost went bankrupt and have to pull all our resources together. After lunch, we went to their supermarket. 1st time I experience security telling us that we have to deposit our bags at the counter and can only bring our wallets into the market. How ridiculous is that! Not as if we will shoplift the whole market. Whatever. After shopping, we went back to the hotel to leave our stuff, as we have to collect our clothes at the tailor at 5pm. Again, it started raining. Oh man, not a good sign. But on the other hand, we took the opportunity to quickly pack our stuff into our luggage so we do not need to worry about packing at night. Took us about 1hr+, sis and us decided to further explore the area while mom and dad and irene auntie rest at the hotel and later meet us at the tailor. While exploring, we ate the most delicious Kebah ever since we left Brisbane. Wow! Nice! Aladdin's Kebah, that's the name of the small little store. Actually wanted massage, but too many pple and we do not have enough time.

Met mom and dad at the tailor's and alas! What happen! Mom's pants cannot fit! She had 4 pants and she was so disappointed. Sis' pant and mine also can't fit. My dress was too short! Haiz... rem... I mentioned earlier that i think vietnamese cannot handle big crowd. Tailor said no worries, he will try to get it down by 10pm at night. So we said ok fine and hope nothing will go wrong. The only happy persons who came out happy from the tailor were Dad, Dear and Irene Auntie. Dad got his 8 shirts, all nicely done. Dear got his 1 shirt and 2 pants nicely done as well. Irene auntie too got her 1 pants and 1 dress nicely done. Only us. :(

Well, Dad's friend arranged to meet him and treat him to dinner. Mom and auntie followed him (relunctantly though) while sis and us met Hy & Sy for dinner at Ben Thanh market. This time round, we were gamed to try the bbq food which dad didn't want to try the 1st night. This was the best meal I had for the past 3 days. Cheap, authentic and delicious! Broken rice with bbq pork chop and ribs, bbq chicken wings, grilled sotongs, lime juice and fruit juices, fresh vegies as well. And it cost us only S$25! The big plate of broken rice only cost us S$2 and the lime juice only S$0.70! We got to pack for Mom and Dad to try. More shopping after that and off we went back to the hotel. Met at the tailor once again and guess what. Mom's pants doesn't fit again. She was so upset and disappointed. BUt good tailor promised to alter and deliver at our hotel at 11.30pm. While at the tailor, which only me, dear and mom, mom told us of the horrible dinner experience. Dad's friend only ordered 1 small fish, some buns and small plate of prawns and veg. No rice at all! He still said it's the best place and blar blar blar. Mom and auntie wasn't even full and was still feeling hungry. Poor dad, must be "suffering". Thank God, we packed food for them. So sis brought dad and auntie back to the hotel to eat the tabao food, while we waited at the tailor. Wanted to bring mom to eat Pho 24 as she didn't get a chance to eat. But it was closed. Thank God, I spotted Aladdin's kebah and bought 1 for her. She was happy woman after that, eating it as we walked back to the hotel.

Tailor delivered what he promises. All the pants, dress and tops fit prefectly well this time. Thank God! Mom's a happy woman after all. :) So all went well and off we went to bed.

Last day basically is no day. Haha. Our flight was at 9.05am and we have to leave the hotel at 6.45am. Arranged for airport transfer as well. The staff at the hotel was nice enough to wake up earlier to prepare breakfast for us. I thought we will have to leave on empty stomach. Nice place, nice people. Only us and Maria and Agnes went back on this day. Hy & Sy extended their stay for 1 more day, so nice right. On the way back, Mom said she will want to come back to this city again but this time only us and her. No dad and sis.. coz they really not suit for traveling to developing country. High expectations I guess. But i will be glad to travel with mom alone, she's a great traveling companion. :)

That pretty sums up our whole trip and I will post the pictures in another entry.
