It's National Day again & quality time spent

Yesterday we celebrated Singapore's 42nd birthday. The parade was different, besides being on the biggest water floating platform in the world, the fireworks was also magnificant. Though I didn't have the chance to watch it live but am happy enough to watch it on tv with the company of my dear.

Due to some reno arguements, dear was made to stay at my place again on weds night as the midnight cab fare was extremely high. We woke up pretty early yesterday morning to send mom, dad, sis & family and her in-laws to tanah merah ferry terminial. They were going to bintan to spend the holidays. So envious... if not for my work, I would have join them too. But it's ok, i still have dear with me here in mainland. After dropping them off at TMF, we headed back to dear's place, thinking that maybe we could have breakfast with his parents. Well oh well, the timing was indeed perfect. Out of ECP and traveling on lower delta rd, I realised that I was driving right behind his dad. His dad went to fetch the maid from his granny's place back to do some household chores. His mom and bro were already on their way with the dog to riverwalk for breakfast at Simply Bread. Dear's cousin and gf and his aunt and uncle were down as well, together with Fudgie their dog. We took a bus to join them at riverwalk for breakfast and after that walked back to the house. We rested at the place and I was thinking that a year ago, I was also at dear's house to celebrate national day. The only difference was, a year ago it was still an empty house and we were just popping by to check out the place. Dear's mom suddenly feel like viewing our new house and so off we went with me driving them to Sembawang. She was quite satisfied (I hope so) with the house, of coz with a few comments here and there. Her aunt (fav aunt) tagged along as well. She gave a different opinion of the house and she seems pretty happy with it. There are times where I really wish that she's going to by my future MIL, but too bad, there's only a dream. I do not want to compare as both are different people altogether. After viewing the house, we drove to causeway point to have lunch while dear and I initially wanted to buy the sofa from Seahorse, but due to limitations of the models shown, the sales person has adviced us to pop down Taka branch for better choices. So in the end, we didn't manage to get anything. Had lunch at pastamania with his youngest aunt and family. Didn't really like his cousin (the eldest son of his youngest aunt), find him with no manners. Was telling dear that if my son is to behave in this way in future, I will have slap him upside down. But of course, that also depends on the family "jia jiao".

Was feeling really tired after lunch as it really has been a long long day. Sent his 2nd aunt back to yio chu kang as goodwill. I have a choice not too but she's been so nice to keep sending me back last time and I just feel that I should just do it for her. Felt bad as I didn't offer to send his parents home... but also partly I was concern of the CTE jam that I will faced. Haha, his mom and aunt commented how good my parking skills are and i was really happy. Guess I perform under pressure. LOL. Anyway, my reverse parking skills, I have to give all thanks to Australia Brisbane west end O'Connell st parking lot that we have back then. It was so narrow that I have to master my skills through it. still rem my 1st attempt to park, I took more than 30mins. Park until I want to cry... thanks West End! Hmm... realised that I have sidetracked. Ok back to track... after sending his aunt back, we went back home and make ourselves comfy and napped for a while. Cooked dinner for dear and he commented that my cooking skills is still as good as before and he truly enjoyed the dinner while watching NDP 07 on tv. As mom and dad are away, dear spent the night at my house to accompany me and also to "protect" me. Haha. Think he has become my official nanny while mom and dad went on holidays. His mom has asked me to collect rent from him now that he spent so much time at my place... close to 30% per week. For these few weeks I guess. Heard from mom that they are going away to thailand again next week from 16 aug to 20 aug, and after that 30 aug to ipoh. Well, for some reason, I am afraid to stay at home alone but I shan't elaborate on the reason. But guess I have to learn too as I can't have dear staying over every week and every time my parents went away. Oh God, take away every fear that is in me right now. No weapon form against me shall prosper. Amen!

I am having time to type this super long entry because I am in office now and I simply have nothing to do. Basically today is just time wasting in the office. I have been watching shows on ppstream since morning and playing popcap games. Since the hiring freeze, I have been so free in the office till I have no motivation to report to work sometimes. Worse, the food barn is not open today and I can't have coffee with my khakis. B.O.R.E.D. Now i am waiting patiently for the time to come for me to go meet dear. Gonna meet contractor this evening and hopefully we will be able to make it for cell group at gladys' place. It's gonna be good old Nic for cg tonight... as hy is out of town. And now I have to think if I will want to drive down to cg so i can save on cab fare tonight. But I think yesterday I have accummulate a big number of mileage that I think my bro-in-law is gg to faint when he sees that tml afternoon when he's back. Maybe I should just drive hor since I have the car... at most pump petrol for him. Hee... God I pray for safety, protect me and the car and passengers in the car. Thank you God for protection.
